Đây là cuộc trao đổi của Nghệ sỹ Văn Ngọc và Khổng Loan về tư duy nghệ thuật và con đường sáng tác của ông nhân dịp ông ra mắt triển lãm Tường Biển tại TP.Vũng Tàu vào tháng 11 và 12.2024.
Với không gian để sắp đặt Tường Biển, ông nói, chưa bao giờ có một không gian phù hợp như thế với con người mình, tác phẩm của mình như vậy. Người xem có thể tưởng đơn sắc nhưng không đơn giản; tưởng tự nhiên, mà có sự sắp xếp một cách tinh vi.
Tất cả những gì diễn ra trong không gian ấy đều có tính toán: từ viên gạch vỡ, sàn xi măng nham nhở, mảnh inox, bù long, tới nơi ngồi xem, hay những người xem đứng trước tác phẩm. Bỏ qua những màu mè hoa lá, chỉ có tất cả những gì tương tác trong tổng thể của tác phẩm sắp đặt. Không được dư thừa chủ chỉ một chi tiết. Các tác phẩm không có kích thước, cũng không có tên, cũng không cần phải giải thích ý tứ gì.
Người xem tự do tìm cho mình những câu trả lời và cảm nhận. “Mình không rào người ta vào trong suy nghĩ của mình, mà mình để cho người ta được quyền tự do, được quyền tưởng tượng.”
Nghệ thuật đương đại đã mở ra cho con người trí tưởng tượng tự do.
