Are you online? If you are, congratulations! If you are not, do something to get you connected with the virtual world. The Internet is not only for emails, reading news, but also learning English.
With the technolgy changing, language learners no longer depend on their teacher as the only resource for their study. Personally, I believe Internet is one of the main tools for reference. Translation work could give you some time to check out if you use the right words, correct expressions etc. So get online and see how much progress you can make after some time of (serious) study.
In the previous translation, I have asked you to read in advance about Edward Tick, PhD., his organization Soldiers’ Heart, and the children’s painting exhibition that have been put online. If you have done it, you can see how easy it is to be a confident translator.
Modern channels of communication in your everyday studies will help you to master your language skills faster. There are various information in Internet and you can find almost everything by googling with key words or phrases.
With the Internet, the “study fee” is much cheaper. You can access to the resource, buy good educational materials (new books, audio lessons, video lessons or just films in English), search for the reviews, and do English tests online.
Don’t forget Youtube (youtube.com) – where you can find lots of educational video lessons with English grammar materials or lessons on English pronunciation. (Do you still remember to type key words?).
You can also listen to English songs and sing them with singers (find the lyrics by googling the song name + lyrics).
Remember, when you learn a language, you need to make others understand what you want to say, and you understand what they want to say. So try to utilize the Internet as a communicating tool.
It is you who could find the answer yourself with the Internet. The teacher is here to practice with you. Their role has changed (forever).
